At this point, I would like to thank my fantastic website designer Oliver, excellent project manager Stella and the prose magic of a journalist Ellen for About the Author and Book, all through Bookmarketeers…
Before I start in the next Blog post discussing ACTOR MASTER SHOWMAN, the award-winning screenplay available to read from the website as a thank you…
A friend suggested I include a personal fiction-writer bio. So, I thought ‘why not put it here in the Week Four Blog’ as printed from my Linkedin personal profile.
It begins….
For thirty-five years worked as an environmental, land use and real estate consultant in Westchester, New York. But in the 1990’s after receiving my master’s in environmental law and policy from Vermont Law School, I pursued my real passion at night, writing fiction and music, well represented in my writer’s portfolio.
The first story I wrote (a published book) was ‘George Turner’s Ghost‘ , a strange, ghostly and wonderful novel experience. At the time, I was living in the mist of the historic neighborhood which had become a deep emotional part of my life, connecting consciously and subconsciously to the past and present within the historic landscape where prominently on a ridge was the Mount Zion Church and Burial Ground.
The next writing project, a musical play, came two years later when I became a member of the Schoolhouse Theater’s Playwright Workshop in nearby Croton Falls. There I created ‘The Rolling Brothers‘ band story, a one act comedy using my Country Rock Music. The play was produced briefly in New York and Connecticut in special, one of a kind venues which resulted in my becoming a member of the Dramatist Guild. In addition, I acted in other Schoolhouse Theater productions as in the role of The Singing Cowboy for Doug Michael’s award winning play… ‘The Geldings’’ in which I also wrote, arranged, and sang to four of the play’s lyrics.
Not long after I followed with ‘Actor Master Showman‘ for another possible book publication. There I used accumulated circus history obtained during my ten years with the Somers Historical Society. As part of my research, I worked two years at the John Jay Homestead of Bedford, New York interested mostly in Judge William Jay’s life, and later adventurously lived a year outside Charleston, South Carolina near the Ashley River to absorb the beauty, grandeur, and history of this magnificent river corridor.
More recently through FilmFreeway.com I became involved in screenwriting as in film festivals having screenwriting contests. There I submitted my screenplays ‘Dancing with Spies @Goddess’ and ‘Actor Master Showman’ both being selected or winning many of the contests.
During the recent Covid pandemic I wrote a sci-fi play ‘The Bridge Experiment‘ and another musical ‘At the STORK’ (club).
Finally, influenced by modern dance, I completed a musical ‘David the Anointed‘ including my own music and lyrics besides writing the biblically inspired play. And yes… This would be a wonderful opportunity for a dance theater and choreographer to collaborate on the project.
Oh, and of course on August 18th 2025… My novel DANCING WITH SPIES @GODDESS was published on Amazon and Kindle… and then this came out
